Established in 1985, CCFSS is a not-for-profit, community-based service supporting families on the Central Coast of NSW. We’re proud of the assistance and advice we’ve provided for almost 40 years.

Prospective Board Member Information
The CCFSS Board’s primary responsibilities centre on providing strategic direction and governance together with the development and implementation of key initiatives.
This includes collaborating with staff to;
- Set the strategic direction
- Overseeing organisational performance
- Ensuring compliance with funding agreements
- Legal and regulatory requirements.
Additionally, the Board is responsible for effectively managing risks, evaluating program outcomes, and fostering a constructive relationship with our Executive Officer to support leadership and accountability.
By engaging in continuous oversight and strategic planning, the Board provides a role to ensure that we operate efficiently and fulfill our Vision and Mission.
Desired Skills and Experience:
We are actively seeking individuals who can offer a wide range of skills and expertise to complement our existing Board team. As a Board member you will contribute to maintaining and upholding CCFSS’s governance expertise and sustainability well into the future.
- Sound understanding of governance (previous Board experience highly regarded)
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Preparedness and capacity to dedicate the time required to support CCFSS as a Board member (monthly Board meetings held in person at Kariong)
- Legal & Governance, Finance or Risk & Compliance expertise highly desirable.

(Attendance at monthly meetings is approximately 2 hours per month plus reading time for financial documents and other papers presented to the Board for approval. Board meetings are normally 2 hours in person at CCFSS Offices Kariong on the fourth Monday of each month commencing at 1.30pm).
